BioDiesel Technologies GmbH - Promoted alternative energy projects

BioDiesel Technologies GmbH was established as an integral part of BioDiesel Technologies Holding GmbH (BDTH), a company that has promoted alternative energy projects (photovoltaic panels, hydrogen cells, biomass and biogas projects) since 1994

The idea: In 2000 a team of experts from BioDiesel Technologies GmbH completed a study in Tunisia for the Austrian Export Council, promoting Austrian made environmental technologies in the North-African country. The focus of the BDTH team was centered on the immense quantity of used cooking oils in the local holiday resorts, and how to utilize it. The vast potential of biodiesel production from this abundant raw material became the focal point of the team’s efforts.

Scope of the work: The BioDiesel Technologies Holding GmbH team performed thorough research on existing biodiesel projects and technologies, and quickly realized, that there were two extremes in the market of biodiesel equipment: the small, so-called “kitchen“ or “farm“ scale equipment, and the immense, high capacity 100-200,000 ton per year capacity engineered projects. BDTH desired to make something unique, and saw their niche. The idea was to design and build modular, containerized, medium-scale equipment, which would enable its owner to be a successful player in the energy sector.
